The Immanuel Church (at 61 Mohawk Rd W, Hamilton, Ontario) and members of the Deservedly So band are pleased to help host - and promote - Hamilton Songburst Singing Circle meetings, gatherings and special events.

A "no barrier" approach to sing in a group with no peer pressure. Everyone should be able to enjoy music. The HSSC is a group wherein anyone who loves to sing and/or play an instrument is welcome. No one "hogs the spotlight" - even if you lead a song, everyone else joins in! It's a Sing-A-Long event, not a "Karaoke" or "Open Mic" event! You can learn new songs and re-familiarize yourself with older ones. Ah, the memories ...

Almost 2 years of circles!
DSO was happy to host the inaugural session of the Hamilton Songburst Singing Circle back in May of 2024, an opportunity open to anyone who enjoys playing an instrument, singing along or listening to others sing. Come on out and give it a shot. It runs the 3rd Saturday of every month and is open to everyone. Find further details in the poster to the right, or below!

Binbrook Little Theatre's "What is Susan's Secret?" (farce), Theatre Ancaster Classics Company: "Growing Up - Moments to Remember" (very funny, touching, poignant, a bit of music sprinkled in!). He's also participated as Jacob Marley in a Christmas play (Dickens Writes a Christmas Carol .
Spring (March '25) show: “The Surprise Party”.

Hamilton Songburst Singing Circle:
Where: Immanuel Church, at 61 Mohawk Rd W, Hamilton, Ontario
When: Third Saturday of every month.
What time: Doors open at 6:30pm. Singing session goes from 7pm to 10pm.
Note: If location or times change, we will update this website.
Parking: Parking is free in the church parking lot.
Bring a musical instrument – or not – your choice. Each person will have an opportunity to pick one or more songs - the number of songs you can pick depends on the number of participants that attend! This is NOT an “Open Mic” or “performance” event … there is no need to sign up in advance or at the event in order to sing a song. It is simply a singing circle for those who love to sing together – we simply rotate turns to lead, around the circle.
NB. Please pick a song that you are familiar with, yourself, and that you can comfortably lead, or ... a song that you know that someone there can lead!
Coffee and tea is (normally) provided; you may bring your own snacks or snacks to share (please label anything for those that may have food sensitivities or allergies! Come join us! For more information you can email songburstcircle@gmail.com , or call (905) 385-0662.
Rise Up Singing - Books for Purchase:
So, we got a bit of a discount, buying these songbooks in bulk: We'd like to pass these savings on to you, should you wish to purchase one. $40.00 Canadian (includes all costs; taxes, shipping, etc.) This would allow you to "mark up" your own copy, and pick and choose and practice songs in advance of every meeting.
Whether you purchase a Rise Up Singing book or not, we will continue to have a number of copies on hand to loan out, during every meeting.
What if the song isn't in the RUS songbook?
If you would like to bring a song that is not in the RUS songbook, bring at least 20 printed copies of the song with lyrics in large print; include chords with the lyrics!
